Terms of Service.
Effective May 16, 2026
1. Acceptance
By installing, accessing, or using briefpls (the "Service") you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms form a binding contract between you (the "Customer") and the operator of briefpls ("we", "us").
2. The Service
briefpls is a Slack-integrated product that schedules asynchronous check-ins, aggregates responses, and posts digests and rollups inside your Slack workspace. We may update or discontinue features at any time with reasonable notice.
3. Accounts & access
You sign in via Slack OAuth. The person who installs briefpls in a Slack workspace is the "Workspace Admin" and is authorized to configure schedules, channels, billing, and the active member roster. You are responsible for the actions taken by anyone using your Slack workspace.
4. Billing
Paid plans are billed through Lemon Squeezy. By upgrading, you authorize recurring charges to the payment method on file. You may cancel at any time from your billing portal; cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial periods except where required by law.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to harass, harm, or unlawfully surveil any person.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to disrupt the Service.
- Submit content that infringes a third party's rights or violates law.
- Resell or sublicense the Service without our written permission.
6. Customer data
Check-in responses and workspace settings ("Customer Data") belong to you. We process Customer Data to operate the Service. See our Privacy Policy for details. You may request export or deletion of Customer Data by emailing us at hello@briefpls.com.
7. Confidentiality & security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect Customer Data, including encryption at rest for Slack bot tokens and encryption in transit for all network traffic. No system is perfectly secure; you remain responsible for the security of your Slack workspace and member accounts.
8. Third-party services
The Service integrates with Slack, Lemon Squeezy, Resend, Anthropic, and Crunchy Bridge. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for outages, errors, or policy changes by third parties.
9. Warranty disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) $100 USD. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.
11. Termination
You may cancel at any time by uninstalling briefpls from your Slack workspace and cancelling any active subscription. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these Terms with notice where reasonable.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The exclusive venue for any dispute is the state and federal courts located in Delaware.
