Template · Standup
Kill the daily standup. Keep the answers.
Three questions in Slack. One clean digest in your channel. Blockers ping the lead the moment they're raised — and nobody sits in a 9 AM Zoom to read what could've been a message.
What people answer
The prompts.
- 01
What did you do yesterday?
- 02
What are you doing today?
- 03
How are things going? (🟢 / 🟡 / 🔴)
- 04
Any blockers? (optional)
Who it's for
Engineering teams of 3–30 that already do a daily standup but feel the meeting is slower than the work it describes.
What gets posted
The digest.
One message in your team channel. Read it on your own time. No meeting, no scroll-back, no follow-up DMs.

Common questions
The stuff people ask.
Can people skip a day?
Yes — one click in the DM, or `/briefpls skip` in any channel. Admins can skip on behalf of teammates.
What about weekends or holidays?
Weekends are off by default. For longer breaks, run `/briefpls pause` and resume when you're back.
What happens if someone marks themselves blocked?
The workspace admin gets a DM the second the check-in submits — not at digest time. So the unblock conversation can start right away.
